GMSI has just expanded their international footprint by establishing a seventh international office in Istanbul, Turkey. Coinciding with the Global Mining Technology Summit recently co-sponsored by GMSI, the launch of the new offices was formalised on 12t May 2010. GMSI is very optimistic about mining opportunities in the Turkish Republics, Central Asia, Balkans, Middle East and North Africa, and hopes to be the mining services and technology solutions provider of choice to local and foreign companies dealing in these areas.

Konkola Copper Mine Zambia have undertaken a major upgrade of their underground communication infrastructure by introducing MST’s digital backbone and AeroScout’s tracking applications to their main Konkola Mine. The solution has been designed and implemented by GMSI, the distributor of MST and AeroScout technology in Africa.

GijimaAst Minining Solutios' Integrated Enterprise Wide Risk Management solution, G-Risk, has recently been implemented at the Mumbai International Airport in Mumbai, India. As a joint project between the Airports Company South Africa and GMSI, the G-Risk Occurence Management Solution for Airside Safety and Security incident management has been implemented successfuly.

For GijimaAst to remain sustainable and competitive in the global market, we need to develop a high performance organisational culture. The information obtained from the first Beehive survey showed us that we are practising old economy management styles and that we need to adapt to a "new economy" style if we want to build a high performance company.
